I am a recent Master's graduate from Edinburgh College of Art seeking positions and opportunities within the field of jewelry that will provide me with further exposure and experience while utilizing and broadening my knowledge of jewelry making and design. I am particularly keen on learning about the various aspects of running a creative company.

Bench Worker/Jewelry Designer

Metalworking jewelry designer at costume jewelry company Revello, who provides jewelry for private companies such as Free People and Anthropologie. Responsible for designing and fabricating jewelry pieces for a variety of clients in order to meet their needs. Work in collaboration with other designers focusing on soft goods to create a wider variety of accessories. Responsible for documenting workflow and communicating with the company directors to meet the needs of our customers.

 

Julie Lee

Design Intern

Assist head designer in all aspects of fine jewelry company Julie Lee. Responsible for designing and providing the specifications of jewelry pieces for both the designer’s own line as well as freelance work. Additionally responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Julie Lee website and updates to various social media outlets. Responsible for sourcing materials and manufacturers as they pertain to the business such as gift box design and creation, as well as light admin responsibilities. Directly involved in assisting in all aspects of the company.

 

K/LLER COLLECTION

Design Intern

Assist head designers in production of jewelry company K/LLER COLLECTION. Responsible for production of jewelry focusing largely on benchwork, cleaning and assembling castings, as well as care and upkeep of the studio and sample work. Knowledge of the jewelry district and various casters, platers, and suppliers. Directly involved in assisting in all aspects of the company from design inception to PR and sales.

 

Helmut Lang/Theyskens’ Theory

June 2010-January 2011

Accessories Design Intern

Working under CFDA Accessories Design winner Jennifer Newman to develop handbag and footwear line under creative directors for Helmut Lang and working under the creative direction of Olivier Theyskens for Theory. Duties included experimentation of hardware and trim techniques, developing hardware technical flats, patternmaking and construction of mock-up samples, documenting creative meetings and noting an array of changes, sourcing materials and confirming quality and color standards, creation and upkeep of line and spec sheets, maintaining design boards and binders, developing drop filled-flats for marketing, assistance in developing tech packs and subsequent corrections, and assisting during lookbook photoshoot.

Aided CFDA Menswear finalist Patrik Ervell in the development and production of his Fall 2011 collection. Duties included creating illustrator flats, tech packs, creation of patterns, garments alteration as well as PR and assisting with his runway show.
